Red Balls (Sponge and low compression balls)
Recommended Racket size: 16 - 23in
Court size: 36ft x 18ft

Requirements
Students must be at least 5 years old.

Description
Students who are 8 and under are likely new to tennis and are still developing motor skills. For this reason, students at this level use equipment that is adapted to their needs. Large red, low compression balls are used with smaller racquets so that the development of strokes is easier. A miniature net and court allow for quick success and increased self-esteem with students of this age. Each class will focus on the production of a different stroke in tennis using a wide range of drills, challenges, activities, and games. Additionally, instructors will work on coordination, agility, balance, and body awareness with students throughout the session. To progress to the next level, students will need to show that they are competent with each stroke that has been introduced.

We understand that students vary in their tennis experience; some students who do not fit into this age category might be placed in a higher level based on their ability and needs.

For students ages 9-12, many options are available that are adapted to various experience and ability levels. Students will be placed in classes that will increase their learning in the most engaging way. Depending on the student's level, orange or green balls will be used.

Orange Balls (Low compression and 50% slower - ideal for starter players of all ages)
Recommended Racket size: 23 - 25in
Court: 60’ x 21’ singles; 60’ x 27’ doubles

Description
Students at this level will review the same techniques that were taught in 8 and Under, but with more advanced equipment and a slightly larger court on which to play. Smaller, low-compression orange balls are used with bigger racquets to further develop spin, control, and power. Each class at this level will focus on the production of a different stroke and students will have the opportunity to explore each stroke with a variety of drills, challenges, and games. To progress to the next level of the program, students will need to demonstrate mastery of each stroke that is taught throughout a given session.
